The voters of Horn Lake have elected Democrat Jimmy Stokes as their next mayor, signaling a potential political shift in a city and region traditionally known for its Republican leanings.

In the June 3 election, Stokes defeated Republican Danny Klein. And the Democratic victory extended beyond the mayoral race with Democrats securing five of the seven alderman seats.

Larry McKinney won alderman at-large while Joshua Langston took Ward 1. Kelly Lee Smith claimed Ward 4, LaShonda Johnson won Ward 5 and Charlotte Armstrong secured Ward 6.
