Jimmy Stokes is Horn Lake’s first Black mayor but he got his start at Kroger

Jimmy Stokes was recently elected as the first Black mayor of Horn Lake and began his four-year term on July 1.
The Democrat defeated his Republican opponent, Alderman Danny Klein, in June, receiving 1,479 votes to Klein’s 1,396.
The Daily Memphian sat down with Stokes to learn a little more about the former planning commissioner.
