Memphis natives Fred Smith Jr., Cello Jackson set to visit Tigers, per report

After recruiting hometown talent to Memphis basketball’s roster this offseason, coach Penny Hardaway has a chance to add some more local flavor to his team for the 2026-27 season.

Class of 2026 recruits Fred Smith Jr. and Cello Jackson are scheduled to take official visits with the Tigers on Sept. 19, according to a report Tuesday afternoon from Sam Kayser of the college basketball recruiting platform League Ready.
