He previously covered LSU sports in Baton Rouge, and the University of Louisiana football and basketball for The Daily Advertiser/USA TODAY Network in Lafayette, the NBA’s Utah Jazz for the Deseret News in Salt Lake City, the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning for the St. Petersburg Times in Florida, and West Texas State basketball for the Amarillo Globe News in Texas.
Even with temperatures in the high 80s Wednesday and headed to the mid-90s by week’s end, a breath of fresh air has blown into Memphis.
Scottie Scheffler, the world’s No. 1 golfer, is here for the FedEx St. Jude Championship that tees off Thursday morning at TPC Southwind. And with him comes a whirlwind of fun anecdotes, quippy quotes and genuine happiness, it sure seems, to be here.
