Elementary schools competed for Tennessee Valley Authority grants to cut energy throughout the last year, and one local school was awarded more than $200,000 that has already been put to use.
TVA teamed up with Memphis Light, Gas and Water to award Perea Elementary School $210,000 in grant money, part of the federal agency’s School Uplift energy management training program that offers energy-efficiency training to reduce energy costs.
