Grizzlies get Edey back, lose Morant in loss to Cavs

Memphis Grizzlies fans waited 14 games to finally see what many thought would be the team’s ideal starting lineup this season.
Ja Morant returned from a one-game absence due to ankle soreness. Center Zach Edey made his season debut after recovering from summer ankle surgery. And rookie wing Cedric Coward, who had been listed as “doubtful” the day before with foot soreness, made his first NBA start.
That trio joined Jaren Jackson Jr. and Jaylen Wells in the starting lineup against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday afternoon. The Grizzlies had a 4-9 record entering the game, but in some ways it felt like the season was only now beginning.
