In wake of fatal Minneapolis ICE shooting, some locals worry what could happen here

U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen is calling on Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to resign as federal immigration raids in other places have taken a violent turn.

The Tennessee Democrat’s call during a Jan. 13 House Judiciary Committee session in Washington was a specific reaction to the Jan. 7 fatal shooting of Renee Good by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent Jonathan Ross in Minneapolis.

“The American public is not the enemy,” Cohen said. “This is a war against America and against due process and against justice.”
