Howdy! It’s Tuesday, July 28, and it’s hotter than the devil’s armpit — or, as my coworker Natalie Pilgrim said yesterday, “The air outside is like breathing in mashed potatoes.” You know exactly what she means.
Elephants, tigers and bears: The Memphis Zoo is getting a big donation from the FedEx family.
Show them the money: About a year ago, SpaceXAI made a big promise to fix up aging schools. MSCS is still waiting.
FedEx layoffs: Memphis-based FedEx Corp. is laying off more than 150 workers at various locations in New York.
Juvie money: The Shelby County Commission approved funding Monday to renovate the aging county Juvenile Court.
Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice: The Orpheum is adding that and two other shows to its Broadway season.
