UTHSC reports vindicate controversial professor

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center released two reports last week that largely vindicated Pamela Lewis-Kipkulei, a controversial professor in the school’s occupational therapy department.
One report was conducted in-house by the University of Tennessee’s audit and compliance department. The second report was conducted by Institutional Compliance Solutions, a Chattanooga-based law firm.
Both reports place much of the blame on former department chair Anne Zachry, saying that her leadership of the department and faculty was wanting. In turn, Zachry filed a federal lawsuit Friday, Aug. 7, alleging that she never intended to resign from her job and asking to be reinstated as the occupational therapy chair.
