Former DeSoto County Visitors Bureau leadership backs fired Landers Center head

Previous board members of the DeSoto County Convention and Visitors Bureau are backing claims by fired Landers Center Executive Director Todd Mastry, who is suing the board in federal court because of his dismissal last year.
In August, county government and the DCCVB asked the court to dismiss Mastry’s case against them. Mastry claims he was fired for refusing to stop booking Black acts as requested by members of the DeSoto County Board of Supervisors and the bureau board of directors.
Mastry also claims that between May and October 2024, members of the DCCVB board were replaced by the Board of Supervisors, which appoints them, solely to garner enough votes to fire him.
