“Sinners,” Ryan Coogler’s new film, is as much a Southern Gothic vampire movie as it is a movie about the blues.

The story is set in Clarksdale, Mississippi, in 1932. Using movie magic, Michael B. Jordan stars as twin brothers Smoke and Stack.
