Humanoid robots to work alongside people in 2 years or less, expert says

Humanoid robots are in the workplace, walking on two legs and managing repetitive and dangerous jobs.
They work behind fences or in cages, but in two years or less, Agility Robotics intends to have a humanoid ready to work cooperatively with humans.
“That’s a big statement for me to make,” Agility Chief Technology Officer Melonee Wise told about 200 people at the Humanoid Robot Forum in Memphis, billed as a first in the United States.

The one-day forum was held Monday, Oct. 7, at the Renasant Convention Center.
“It’s not going to be an easy problem to solve, but we are going to be out of the cage in 18 to 24 months,” Wise said.
