Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease is often an all-consuming task, and caregivers often don’t access the resources available to them.
“We have a huge number of people in our community dealing with family members with Alzheimer’s, and a lot of people don’t know there are resources out here for them,” said Zelda Fitzgerald Hill, 52, a community volunteer with the Alzheimer’s Association’s Memphis chapter.
Seven million people in the U.S. have the brain disorder, which slowly destroys their memories and thinking skills.
