Former MSCS board chair calls Feagins’ hire a ‘mistake’
In a letter addressed to the Memphis-Shelby County Schools board, the former chair challenged the leadership of Superintendent Marie Feagins and said selecting her for the role was a mistake.
“As a board, we made a decision to hire Dr. Marie Feagins, and if I’m being honest with you, it was a mistake,” former MSCS board chair Althea Greene wrote in a letter obtained by The Daily Memphian Friday, Sept. 27.
“She was the least qualified candidate for the position,” Greene continued, “and her actions since coming onboard have shown her lack of experience as a leader.”
