August elections continue turbulent history for judicial appointments

Some of the hardest and most persistent campaigns on the streets of Memphis this summer have also been among the quietest or the easiest for voters to overlook — the set of six countywide special judicial races decided on the Aug. 6 Election Day.

Those races are also some of the most politically turbulent in a city whose politics can quickly take a turn.
