Southaven wary for new business moving into ‘epicenter of auto crimes’

Auto burglaries have become so common near the Southaven-Whitehaven border, city officials might deny a business wanting to occupy an empty building near Stateline Road and Airways Boulevard.

“That area is the epicenter of auto crimes, and we want to be straight up with the property owner and the potential business person,” Southaven Mayor Darren Musselwhite said during a meeting with the Board of Aldermen Tuesday, Sept. 17.
