Ahead of enhanced security measures, Downtown crime down 27%, city says

Crime in Downtown Memphis has fallen 27% year over year, according to data released by the City of Memphis on Friday, Nov. 22. 

The city released the crime data in a presentation that detailed plans to add more police officers, around-the-clock camera monitoring and about 180 new surveillance cameras to the blocks around FedExForum.
