A Memphis resident has filed an ethics complaint against Memphis Fire Department Chief Gina Sweat.
The complaint by Antoine Maxwell alleges that Sweat has “engaged in discriminatory practices regarding promotions and discipline.”
It also alleges the “pattern of conduct” started in 2016, the year Sweat was appointed fire chief.
“She has shown favoritism and created a culture of fear. This includes altering policies and possible misuse of city resources,” the complaint reads.
