An attorney representing former Memphis-Shelby County Schools Superintendent Marie Feagins in a lawsuit challenging her ouster from the district has withdrawn from the case, court documents show.
William Wooten filed a motion to withdraw as the attorney in Feagins’ case Wednesday, Dec. 3, about 10 months after filing the case on her behalf in February.
“As grounds for this Motion, counsel states that good cause exists under Rule 1.16(b) for withdrawal and that withdrawal may be accomplished without material adverse effect on the interests of the client,” Wooten wrote.
