What Memphians can expect in the 2026 TN General Assembly

The 114th Tennessee General Assembly reconvenes Jan. 13 and, once again, Memphis and Shelby County are in the spotlight. 

This year, Memphians can expect partisan battles over immigration enforcement, who will control Memphis-Shelby County Schools, and potential new requirements for the Memphis Safe Task Force.
