Morning, Memphis. It’s Thursday, Oct. 15, and there’s a ribbon-cutting today on Downtown’s new DeSoto Lofts apartments. UrbanArch architecture firm is also relocating its office there. The project is notable because it’s bringing new life to that long-vacant Masonic Lodge that overlooks Army Park on G.E. Patterson Avenue.

Big vacancy: The proposed Landers Center hotel was supposed to be almost done by now. It’s barely gotten started.

Millington’s moratorium: Millington quietly approved a six-month moratorium on new data centers Monday.

Remembering those killed in police crash: Families of the five victims killed in a fatal Saturday crash held vigils this week to honor their lost loved ones.

Man dies during traffic stop: A driver apparently died of an unknown cause after being pulled over by Memphis Safe Task Force officers.

How to live to 110: If you ask Martha McAnespie, pasta is probably involved.

Wings and coffee go together like … well, do they? Here’s a combo to try at the combination Buffalo Wild Wings Go/Dunkin’.

Breakin’ the law (school bar exam records): The University of Memphis law school boasts the highest rate of students passing bar exam in more than a decade.

Getting a leg up: Your yoga pants might soon be shipped from Southaven.

Crash into me (or you): Maybe someone was really desperate for a seasonal caramel apple shake.
