SEATTLE — Penny Hardaway is walking down the hallway of the Climate Pledge Arena, but he is talking about a moment from an NCAA Tournament game two years ago.
His Memphis Tigers had a 1-point lead over Florida Atlantic in the waning moments. All they had to do was inbound the ball and hit the foul shots that would surely come.
“We had two five-year guards in the backcourt,” he said. “It was exactly what you’d want. And then ...”
