Geoff Calkins has been chronicling Memphis and Memphis sports for more than two decades. He is host of "The Geoff Calkins Show" from 9-11 a.m. M-F on 92.9 FM. They planted the final tulip bulb last Tuesday.
And then came the storm.
The storm that brought cold and sleet and snow.
The storm that might deliver freezing temperatures for days.
All those poor tulips at the Dixon Gallery & Gardens. A record number of tulips! In celebration of the Dixon’s 50th anniversary!
“Right at 650,000 bulbs,” said Dale Skaggs, 56, the director of horticulture.
