The Memphis Showboats aren’t leaving Memphis.

That’s according to Steve Macy, the Showboats’ senior director of team business and event operations.

“There’s no doubts that the Showboats will continue in Memphis next year and into the future,” Macy said Thursday, the same day the United Football League emailed season ticket holders thanking them for their support, announcing it will soon launch its campaign to attract new season ticket holders for 2025 and assuring those who purchased seats in 2024 that will have first dibs on picking seat locations for next year.

“I don’t see any reason, I don’t see any signs,” Macy said, “that (we won’t) be continuing long-term.

“We’ve got the lease on the stadium for next year.”

The Showboats’ record has some in Memphis questioning the franchise’s fate.

Added to the fact that the fact players and coaches don’t even live in Memphis, and the team doesn’t even practice here.
