Memphis baseball coach Matt Riser is a week away from starting his second season with the Tigers.

What a different feeling he has this offseason compared to the last.

Memphis hired Riser ahead of the 2024 season after Kerrick Jackson left to coach Missouri following just one season in Memphis. Riser was aggressive in the NCAA transfer portal, but the timing of his hire did not allow him to be nearly as intentional as he wanted.
