Some next-day notes on the Memphis Grizzlies’ first-round draft night and what’s ahead: 

Did the Grizzlies try to move up?

There was a lot of noise prior to Wednesday night’s draft about the Grizzlies trying to move up to select Connecticut center Donovan Clingan, and then there was reporting during the draft that a deal with Charlotte might be happening. 

Afterward, Grizzlies executive Zach Kleiman mostly sidestepped questions about this alleged pursuit, only saying that the team achieved his desired outcome in getting Zach Edey at No. 9.
