Injured Grizzlies Edey, Aldama, others take early ‘exit’ as home schedule wraps up

On Feb. 3, the day the Memphis Grizzlies traded Jaren Jackson Jr. to the Utah Jazz and unofficially embarked on a rebuild, they had a record of 19-29 and were in 11th place in the Western Conference.
They went 6-24 after that, and on the morning of the team’s final home regular-season game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday they were … 11th place in the Western Conference.
Nobody said taking active measures to control draft positioning would be easy.
