Final Four Memories: The Tigers experienced March Madness before it was a thing
Fifty years ago on March 15, 1973, the 1972-73 Memphis State basketball team played South Carolina in its first game of the 1973 NCAA Tournament. Two days later the Tigers defeated Kansas State to reach the Final Four for the first time in program history. (The University of Memphis athletics/Daily Memphian)
