Like father, like daughter: Former Tiger football player’s daughter becomes Memphis cheerleader

Former Memphis football offensive lineman Ron Sells gets the same feeling every time he steps back into Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium to watch the Tigers play.
“There’s that hair that stands up on the back of your neck, and you get a little anxious and you get a little excited,” Sells said. “And your blood starts pumping and you try to calm yourself down a little bit.”
The Tigers were unveiling a newly renovated Liberty Stadium during their home-opening win over Arkansas State two weeks ago. Sells was there. The hair on the back of his neck was likely standing a bit taller that night, and the excitement a little more heightened.
It wasn’t just the new west tower or Landers Plaza that gave Sells the extra juice. Rather, it was his daughter, Emersyn Sells, cheering at her first Memphis football game.
