Hernando aldermen address noise complaints against a restaurant

Ongoing noise complaints against a Hernando business have officials considering their options for recourse.

During a public meeting held Tuesday, Nov. 5, the Hernando Board of Aldermen addressed a restaurant that has been cited in the past for violating the city’s noise ordinance. Live, outdoor music from the venue continues to disturb the peace, according to board members and neighboring business owners,

“These complaints are not coming from one person,” said Alderman Bruce Robinson. “They’re coming from multiple people.”

Robinson said that since the board passed its noise ordinance in 2021, the Hernando Police Department has received around 33 complaints about the business, which was never named explicitly in the meeting. Parties involved later confirmed it as Fratello’s Italian Steakhouse.

“I can attest to the fact that it’s an ongoing problem,” said Hernando City Attorney Steven Pittman, “and this (ordinance) has already been amended once because this is an ongoing problem.”
