Southaven makes proposal to offset property tax assessment changes

Southaven’s proposed fiscal year 2026 budget includes a 13.53% decrease in the city’s millage rate, a move Mayor Darren Musselwhite said is necessary to offset a state-mandated property assessment change.
The proposed budget also allocates significant funds to public safety, including pay raises for police and firefighters.
