Daily positivity rate below 6% after 2,131 tests

Shelby County Health Department reported 120 new cases of coronavirus Sunday for a total of 30,255 since early March.
The most recent data comes from 2,131 reported tests bring Sunday’s positivity rate to 5.6%.
Three new deaths were reported in the most recent data for a total of 445 virus-related deaths. An estimated 28,257 people have recovered.
The Health Department reports hospital data on weekdays. The most recent data shows 90% of acute care beds have patients in the metro-area. Five percent of those in acute care, 115 patients, are being treated for COVID-19.
Forty-seven intensive care unit beds are vacant in the metro-area. Capacity in area ICUs was at 89%, Friday afternoon. Of those, in ICU – 19%– were being treated for COVID-19.
The Tennessee Department of Health reported 183,514 confirmed cases statewide and 2,218 fatalities related to the virus. The state estimates 164,982 recoveries.
