Coronavirus: More than 100 new cases, 2 deaths
The Shelby County Health Department reported at least 100 new cases for the fourth consecutive day Saturday, March 27.
The health agency reported 106 new cases and two additional deaths.
The 106 additional COVID-19 cases resulted from 2,674 tests, yielding a 4% positivity rate.
Active cases in Shelby County stand at 1,042, a decrease from the 1,049 reported Friday.
At least 195,985 people in Shelby County have received one COVID-19 vaccine dose; 91,328 people have received two vaccine doses. A total of 287,313 doses have been administered in Shelby County.
Those ages 16 and up in Shelby County can now sign up for vaccine appointments. They can be scheduled online or by calling 901-222-7468 (SHOT).
Overall, the Health Department has reported 90,840 total coronavirus cases and 1,560 deaths, classifying 88,238 cases as inactive/recovered.
A total of 1,086,344 million COVID-19 tests have been performed in Shelby County, yielding a 10% positivity rate.
