After suicide, Oakhaven church provides mental health services
Pastor Diane Young and husband Bishop William Young sit in the Healing Center Baptist Church sanctuary on Tuesday, July 27, 2021. The couple founded the church nearly 30-years-ago and after a parishioner died by suicide there in 2002, decided to help their churchgoers beyond their spiritual needs. That led to the founding of the Wellness and Stress Clinic of Memphis. (Mark Weber/The Daily Memphian)
Healing Center Baptist Church’s Bishop William Young and his wife, Pastor Dianne Young, have continued their larger mission to remove the stigma around mental health in a predominantly African American community.
