With less than a month to go before the official start of practice, Collierville High is without a boys basketball coach.

On Thursday, Oct. 7, district athletic director Jeff Curtis confirmed to the Daily Memphian that coach Scott Robinson had submitted his resignation due to “personal reasons.”

Last season, Robinson guided Collierville to the AAA state tournament for the first time since 1973.

“Collierville Schools has accepted the resignation from Scott Robinson,” Curtis said in a statement. “Coach Robinson brought the program farther, faster than anyone could have reasonably expected in his two years. He leaves the program in a very strong position and poised for continued success.”

Curtis added that a search for a successor is already underway. The first official day for practice is Nov. 1.
