Jen Hannah, who has experience in media relations through the University of Memphis athletic department and the local Girl Scouts organization, will serve as public information officer for Collierville Schools.

Hannah will begin her new role on Monday. She replaces Mario Hogue who left in August for a position with Leadership Memphis. Hannah is only the second person to serve as the district’s spokesperson.

“I’m excited for this opportunity to work with and represent Collierville Schools,” Hannah said Thursday. “It’s an honor to serve an incredible school district, and I cannot wait to get started and continue to help the growth of Collierville Schools.”

In a release Thursday morning, Superintendent Gary Lilly said he was “thrilled” Hannah was joining the district.

“Her professional drive, experience in multiple educational settings, and award-winning work performance make her the ideal individual to share the story of Collierville Schools,” he said.

Hannah began her career in sports information, working at Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association and Texas State before moving to Memphis in 2016.

Locally, she served as assistant athletic director of athletics communications at the U of M until 2020. She most recently served as the director of marketing and communications for Girls Scouts Heart of the South.

Hannah earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Truman State University. She also holds a master’s in business administration from Lindenwood University, and spent time in athletic communications as a graduate assistant.
