The Peach Cobbler Factory launched its second Memphis-area location at 5101 Sanderlin Ave. with a soft opening on Saturday, July 15.

The new location is part of Peach Cobbler Factory’s plan to expand to more than 200 stores by 2024. The grand opening is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, July 22.

In Tennessee, the Peach Cobbler Factory has 17 new locations planned, which will bring the number of venues in the state to 20.

For owners Otis and Janie Jackson, the plan to add several locations across the Memphis area has been the goal since before their first location in Collierville. Otis was a point guard for the 1978-82 Memphis Tigers basketball team.

“When we joined the franchise, (Otis) wanted to buy the whole region,” Janie Jackson said. “He had the vision since day one. He just wanted to keep moving forward.”

The Jacksons want to add locations to reach more people in the surrounding areas and meet more customers.

“I love the customers, people, friends, I love to see their reactions,” Otis Jackson said. “I love to see how people love it.”

One of those customers, Ben Thomas, visited the new location during the soft opening.

“It smells good when you walk in, and everybody’s friendly,” Thomas said.

Peach Cobbler Factory has 12 flavors for each of the cobblers, big cobbler cookies, banana puddings, pudd-n shakes and six flavors of gourmet cinnamon rolls.

“There’s something different here that hasn’t been done before, such as the variety of things we offer,” Janie Jackson said.

Otis Jackson said his favorite flavor is the sweet potato cobbler or the apple caramel cobbler. Janie Jackson’s favorite is any of the peach cobblers, such as the praline peach.

Anthony Simmons said he frequently visits the original location in Collierville.

“It’s a delight. Anything you see, you’ll like it,” Simmons said.

The dessert shop also sells a variety of “Bigger and Better” cookies and has an option of a dessert flight, choosing four of any cobbler or pudding.

It also offers special branded beverages, including Sweet Peachy Tea, Cold Rush Coffee and its own branded milk.

Customers can order online either for catering or for a to-go order and is available for pick-up or delivery.
