The Memphis athletics department has hired former University of Missouri associate director of athletics Brad Loos as the senior associate director/chief revenue officer.

Loos, who also coached college basketball for 15 years, was over major gifts while at Missouri. He will manage the Memphis Athletics Fund and lead the strategic planning of major gifts for the athletic department in his newly hired role with the Memphis Tigers. The Clarksville, Tennessee native is also moving about 3 ½ hours away from his hometown.

“I could not be more excited to join the athletic department at Memphis,” Loos said in a press release. “I grew up on campus at Memphis when my father was an assistant coach under Larry Finch, and I know first-hand how special of a place Memphis is. My family and I cannot wait to get to know the great people of Memphis and help make an impact on the future of this athletic department.”

Loos, the son of M Club Hall of Famer and former Memphis assistant basketball coach Dave Loos, spent six years in the athletic department at Missouri. His primary responsibility in his most recent role was to oversee the fundraising team for the (Missouri) Tiger Scholarship Fund. He was also tasked with cultivating and soliciting philanthropic gifts of $50,000 or more. Loos was over all development and advancement initiatives within the Missouri athletic department, as well as the premium seating sales for the football stadium and basketball arena. He is bringing all that experience and knowledge to the Memphis athletic department.

Loos’ basketball coaching background includes three years as an assistant coach at Missouri from 2014-17. He was also an assistant coach for 12 years at the University of Central Missouri, where he helped coach the Mules to a 274-95 record and a 2014 NCAA Division II national title.

“We are thrilled to add someone of Brad’s caliber to our athletic department and senior leadership team,” athletics director Laird Veatch said in a statement. “Not only does Brad bring high-level fundraising expertise, but he also has significant experience with stadium renovations and selling premium seating, which will be invaluable as we continue the renovation process to Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium and head into renovations at FedExForum.”
