Mercedes-Benz Van Center opens in Memphis

TAG Truck Center opened the Mid-South’s official Mercedes-Benz Van Center at 4430 American Way on Tuesday, Jan. 9. 

The new 35,000-square-foot dealership was built to accommodate growth, serve the commercial van demands and provide parts, service and sales to customers nationwide.

“Opening Mercedes-Benz Van Center-Memphis to continue meeting our customers’ commercial van needs has been a top priority,” David Powell, sales director of Mercedes-Benz Van Center-Memphis, said in a press release. “This Van Center allows us to accommodate the commercial van growth we’ve seen not only in the Mid-South but across the country over the years.” 

The new center will have Sprinter Van parts, service write-up, sales and an expanded customer lounge for customers.

“Our sales team across the TAG Truck Center footprint has done a fantastic job of taking care of our customers and their commercial van needs,” said Brandon Earl, new truck sales director at TAG Truck Center, in the release. “We are proud of this new facility and look forward to setting the pace in the commercial van industry.” 

New health facility in Whitehaven

Shelby County bought 4.175 acres next to the Southland Mall for $950,000.

The Shelby County Health Department plans to open a new state-of-the-art health-clinic facility on the site.

RL Morgan with Myers CRE represented the buyer. The seller, Global Memphis Shelby LLC, was represented by Melanie Myers Bland from Myers CRE. 

“That Elvis Presley and Shelby Drive corner is one of the busiest in this city,” Morgan said. “This center will add and also contribute to the collective reactivation of this historic neighborhood and hopefully spur more redevelopment.” 

The site is next to the newly renovated YMCA and within walking distance to schools. 

River Horse Logistics in Lamar Industrial Park

River Horse Logistics leased a 210,675-square-foot space in the Lamar Industrial Park. 

River Horse Logistics specializes in supply chain management.

The company will open a multi-modal transportation hub at 3527 Lamar Ave. with access to FedEx, truckload, LTL, Intermodal, Import/Export, Class One railroads and UPS. The main office is located at 813 Ridge Lake Blvd.

The landlord, MDH Partners, was represented by Patrick Walton and Stephanie Allen from CBRE. Matt Weathersby and Luke Jenson from Cushman & Wakefield Commercial Advisors represented the tenant, River Horse Logistics.
