DeSoto County Schools’ total revenue for the 2024-25 fiscal year will likely exceed $426 million, according to a proposal from the district, establishing a new spending record for the North Mississippi system.

That’s up from the nearly $410 million the district budgeted last year and the previous high of the roughly $417 it allowed during the 2022-23 school year.

“DeSoto County Schools has more money than it ever has,” said Stacey Graves, the district’s chief financial officer, during a presentation earlier this month. “That means we can do more things to move the district forward.”

The bulk of that figure, about 55%, will come from the State of Mississippi with a little less than $235 million. Local revenue answers for roughly $145,576,372 and federal funding is around $46,447,859.

The district’s Board of Education will vote on the budget during its meeting on Monday, June 24.
