Germantown seeks injunction after Forest Hill house party

The city filed a complaint in Shelby County Chancery Court on Friday after 3371 Forest Hill-Irene, a home with residential estate zoning, was advertised as the location of an upcoming event venue on social media. The address was promoted as “The Yard @ Germantown,” adding “(the venue) offers an astonishing view that will leave your guests speechless.”

Tyisha Jones, who goes by Michele, is named in the lawsuit as owner of the property on the west side of Forest Hill-Irene between Poplar Pike and Winchester, across the street from Forest Hill Elementary School.

A party — a ticketed event — took place at the home on Sunday, July 21, causing concerns from neighbors.

Creating the venue “happened on its own,” Jones said. “It got to be this big thing,” she said. “When people saw videos they wanted to come.”
