Arlington development nixes 55+ housing plan to allow younger tenants

An Arlington commission has endorsed removing the age restriction in the Providence Place mixed-use development, opening the door for younger buyers to lease units.
The original plans called for 60 age-restricted loft apartments for those 55 and older. But with some hesitation from lenders and a desire to draw interest from younger clients, developers asked for an amendment to the plan on Milton Wilson Boulevard near Airline Road.
The Arlington Planning Commission unanimously agreed to the amendment Monday, Aug. 19, removing the age-restricted language from the master plan on the $100 million development.
