After years of delays, questions and anticipation, the new $31 million mega Kroger opened in Arlington this week.
The store on Airline Road, which welcomed customers Wednesday, Oct. 23, has been in the planning stages for more than six years and is double the size of the former Arlington Kroger.

The construction of Ford’s BlueOval City plant played a role in the decision to move forward with the project now, and company officials expect the Arlington location to be a top store for the company.
“Our new Arlington Kroger is a $31 million dollar commitment to the residents there, as well as Memphis and Shelby County,” said Micheal Cristal, Kroger Delta Division president, in a prepared statement.
