Attorneys for RowVaughn Wells, Tyre Nichols’ mother, argued in filings Sunday, Nov. 17, that the City of Memphis’ disclosure of Nichols’ 2017 arrest and other accusations about payments between Wells and the mother of Nichols’ child were just efforts to cause a media frenzy.

Attorneys at Romanucci & Blandin said that the city “misused” the court docket and is attempting “to poison the jury pool” in a case set for trial next year.
