Author and filmmaker Robert Gordon has spent much of the last 40 years telling the rest of the world why Memphis is a special place. Now his hometown is returning the favor.

On Friday, Nov. 29, Gordon was honored with a brass note on the Beale Street Walk of Fame. The ceremony was held at 3 p.m. at A. Schwab’s at 163 Beale St., the subject of Gordon’s first published piece back in 1985 in Memphis magazine.
