Bartlett commission pushes back on new mosque
The location of a proposed mosque is causing issues for a group of Muslims in Bartlett.
Earlier this week, the Bartlett Planning Commission passed along an unfavorable recommendation regarding a special-use permit for a new mosque on Broadway Road near the Ellendale five-way intersection.

The proposal goes to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen for consideration, but the Planning Commission’s decision jeopardizes the application.
“At this time, we’re going to move forward with a hearing at the Board of Mayor and Alderman and hope for more of an opportunity to present the traffic study that we had done at their request,” David Bray of The Bray Firm, an engineer representing the project, said Wednesday, Dec. 4.
He thinks the application will likely go before the BMA next month.
