Petra Cafe closing

After 16 years in the corner space, Petra Cafe had its last day in Carrefour at Kirby Woods on Friday, Dec. 20.
The Mediterranean cafe announced on social media last week that it would close its Germantown location at 6641 Poplar Ave.
Jamal Douba and his wife opened the first Petra Cafe 23 years ago. At one point, the cafe had nine locations.
At the location, the cafe is fitted with a large photograph of the Seven Wonders of the World: the 5,000-year-old mountain-carved building Petra in Jordan, near where Douba grew up.
The Petra Cafe owners said they had no choice but to close the last open location.
