Collierville to rezone landfill ahead of auction
The Town of Collierville filed a complaint June 12, 2019, in Shelby County Chancery Court claiming the Frank Road landfill was an odor nuisance, noise nuisance and safety hazard to residents. (Patrick Lantrip/The Daily Memphian file)
Collierville wants to rezone a former landfill site that was a longtime nuisance for town leaders and nearby residents.
The E-Plex landfill — south of Wolf River Boulevard, west of Bray Station Road and north of Frank Road — was operated by Norman Brown III until his death in 2022. State officials are working on capping the landfill.
And town officials want to make sure its existence as a landfill has ended for good.
