‘Mixed-use is popping up everywhere’ in Arlington

With a new Kroger and Baptist emergency department firmly in place on Airline Road near Interstate 40 in Arlington and new businesses popping up nearby, developers are envisioning mixed-use projects in the area.

Developers of three such uses hope to fill in vacant land like puzzle pieces in the next several years.

“Mixed-use is popping up everywhere. It’s a nationwide trend,” Arlington Mayor Mike Wissman said. “For some smaller or more challenging properties, it makes a lot of sense.”
