Baseball — and cricket — bond Lausanne standout and his dad

On the day that Rishi Bhavaraju got his first baseball glove, his dad did too.
Bhavaraju, who recently wrapped up his junior season as a key member of a strong Lausanne team, was only 3 when he was bitten by the baseball bug. Obviously, at that young age, the basics of the game were beyond him.
But they were also beyond his father. Kalyan Bhavaraju was born in India. Cricket is king in the world’s most populous country and, like most of his friends and peers, Kalyan was pretty handy with a cricket bat.
